About the Artist

Welcome to my archives, where color, stories, and perspectives come together through art.

I’m Tia Love, artistically known as LOVE, a Bay Area-born fine artist and the founder of Love’s Archives. My practice centers on oil and acrylic painting, focusing on organic figurative portraiture, color, and the stories we carry within us.

My relationship with art began early. Growing up in the Bay Area, I was nurtured by creative spaces including the Junior Center of Arts & Sciences and the Malonga Casquelord Center for the Arts. Painting eventually became more than a creative outlet; it became a place of refuge, reflection, and freedom.

My path has always existed at the intersection of art, justice, and community. I studied Law, History, and Culture at the University of Southern California, developing a perspective shaped by my interest in people, advocacy, history, and the systems that shape our lives. While my academic background led me toward law, I continued returning to the language that felt most natural to me: art.

My work explores life through my eyes as a Gen Z Black woman, drawing from personal experiences, identity, memory, pop culture, and the social and cultural moments that shape how we see ourselves and one another. I’m interested in the stories we inherit, the experiences we carry, and the ways our environments shape who we become.

My work doesn't always fit neatly into one category. Through portraiture and conceptual work, I create a visual archive of my perspective, one that reflects the beauty, complexity, humor, tension, and humanity I encounter in contemporary life.

But Love’s Archives extends beyond the canvas.

I create art experiences that cultivate creativity, connection, and community, from live painting and Paint & Sips to guided workshops for nonprofits, community organizations, elders, and young people. Whether I’m painting, teaching, or creating alongside others, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where people feel seen, supported, and free to express themselves.

I believe art can bring people together, open up meaningful conversations, and remind us of our shared humanity. I want everyone who experiences Love’s Archives to walk away with something, whether that’s a new perspective, a meaningful connection, a moment of joy, or simply the feeling that they were able to create something that belongs to them.

I rediscovered my divinely given talent in my twenties, and Love’s Archives became a way to document that journey.

These are my archives.
